Himanshu of Sultanpur selected for camp in Indian team | Himanshu of Sultanpur selected for camp in Indian team: BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar called, mother said – God’s support and son’s struggle – Sultanpur News
Hello, I am Ajit Agarkar, the chief selector of Team India. On the other line was Himanshu Singh, a resident of Kharga, Sultanpur. The chief selector told Himanshu – You have been selected by the BCCI for the Indian team camp for the Bangladesh Test series.
,
Himanshu, who has been selected for the India camp in Chennai from 13 to 18 September, is preparing at the Mumbai ground. Three bowlers from the country have been selected for the Indian team announced under the leadership of Rohit Sharma for the Bangladesh and India Test series on 8 September 2024.
These include fast bowlers Mayank Yadav (Delhi), Yudhveer Singh (Jammu Kashmir) and Himanshu Singh (Sultanpur, Mumbai). Mayank and Yudhveer have played Ranji and IPL, while Himanshu Singh has been given a direct chance by Indian team’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar on the basis of his performance without playing Ranji and IPL.
Direct selection in India camp without playing Ranji and IPL There would hardly be any cricketer in the history of cricket who would have got a chance to directly join the Indian camp without playing Ranji and IPL. Ever since Himanshu came to the Emerging Camp, Indian team’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar was keeping an eye on Himanshu’s performance.
Himanshu also fits in the vision of Indian team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir to give chances to the youth team. It is expected that 6 feet 4 inches tall Himanshu can get the advantage of being a tall bowler in the upcoming Australia series considering the Australian conditions and he can be a part of the Indian team.
Mother said- Himanshu’s father helped Himanshu’s family lives in Vinobapuri in the city. We spoke to Himanshu’s mother Sunita Singh on this achievement. She is very happy, she said that she is feeling very good today, this is her prayer to God that he should move ahead. She said that parents show the way, the struggle is of them (children) and it is the grace of God.
Mother Sunita said- Himanshu was very fond of cricket since childhood, and his father gave him full support. He worked hard in Mumbai and we kept supporting him from here. We did not let him lack anything. I left him in Mumbai in the hands of God and God fulfilled his needs. Today, this child is struggling because of God’s support.
Brother said- this is a big opportunity We also spoke to Himanshu’s elder brother Vaibhav Singh, he told us that we did not know, we got a call that your brother has been selected like this. When we confirmed on the phone, he said yes it is so, we are very happy because it is a very big opportunity to be selected in the Indian team. Vaibhav said that although he has not been selected yet, he has not got a chance to play a match.
Himanshu was naughty in childhood He further says, ‘As a net bowler’ is also a big deal, because three people have been called. Out of which two people have played Ranji matches. They have neither played any Ranji match nor any IPL. Still he got a call from Team India’s selector Ajit Agarkar, he was very impressed with him. Now he will bowl in the nets with Ashwin.
Talking about his brother’s childhood, he said that Himanshu was naughty by nature in his childhood, he always used to bat and we used to bowl to him. When it was our turn to bat, he used to go away saying that he will not do it. When he used to play here, we used to make him bowl for two to three hours. He has been following R Ashwin since the beginning, he always used to say that he likes it.
