A youth from Prayagraj was shot by Kaushambi police in an encounter. He later died in the hospital. Questions were raised on this encounter case. The police were accused of kidnapping him from his home and then shooting him to death in a fake encounter.

The court has ordered to register an FIR against the police of Kaushambi’s Charwa police station, SOG in-charge and his team for kidnapping and murder.

The court said- From the documents placed before us, it seems that the role of Kaushambi Police is completely suspicious. Therefore, the concerned SHO is ordered to register an FIR and investigate the matter properly.

The police of Charwa police station Kaushambi suddenly reached Anju Devi’s house, which is in Koraon, Prayagraj. They started beating Anju’s son Vijay Kumar Soni. They said to go to Charwa police station for information about the robbery. About a dozen policemen arrived at the house in two vehicles. The SOG in-charge and his team were present along with the police of Charwa police station. The team kidnapped Vijay and took him away.

Vijay was shot two days later Actually, a robbery took place with a goldsmith in Thana Charwa area on 8 September 2023. Fake recovery was shown from Vijay in the same connection. Vijay was shot dead on 12 September 2023 at 1.33 pm in an encounter. Vijay was shot in the right shoulder.

The team that shot included Charwa police station in-charge inspector Vinod Kumar Singh, SOG in-charge Siddharth Singh and his team. Vijay died on 21 September 2023. His postmortem was conducted on 22 September 2023 at Swarooprani Medical College Prayagraj.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate said that the court believes that the bullet was fired with the intention to kill Vijay Kumar Soni.

It was alleged that Vijay was kidnapped and then murdered. Anju said that I sent a complaint to the Police Commissioner Prayagraj, UP Home Secretary through registered post, but no one listened to me.
