Nissanka gains 42 places in ICC Test rankings: Reaches 39th position, Rohit, Kohli and Jaiswal in top-10

Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka won the match by scoring a century against England.
Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka has gained 42 places in the new ICC Test rankings. In the rankings released on Wednesday, Nissanka has reached the 39th position with 568 points. Indian team’s star players Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal are not playing Tests at the moment, but despite this, they have gained one place each.
England’s Joe Root is at number 1 in the batsmen’s rankings. While Harry Brook has lost 7 places. Brook has now reached the 12th position with 709 points.
Nisanka won the match by scoring a century Pathum Nissanka was the second highest run scorer for Sri Lanka in the recently concluded Sri Lanka-England Test series. Nissanka scored 217 runs, which included a century and a half-century. He scored a century in the last match and helped Sri Lanka win the match on England soil after 10 years.
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal benefit Indian players Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal have gained one position each. Indian Test team captain Rohit Sharma has now reached number five with a rating of 751. Yashasvi Jaiswal is now at number 6 with a rating of 740. He has also gained one position. Virat Kohli has reached number 7. His rating is 737. The Indian team will be seen in action in the Test against Bangladesh from September 19.
Harry Brook out of top 10 Australia’s opener Usman Khawaja has gained one place. His rating is now 728 and he has come to number eight. Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan is at number 9, his rating is 720. Australia’s Labuschagne is also at number 9 with the same rating. Pakistan’s Babar Azam has also gained one place. He has now reached 11th place from 12th. His rating is 712. On the other hand, England’s Harry Brook has suffered a loss of seven places at once. Now he is out of the top 10. His rating is 709.
There is no change in the ranking of top-4 players England’s Joe Root is still number one in the Test rankings released by the ICC. His rating has now become 899. New Zealand’s Kane Williamson is in second place. His rating is currently 859. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell remains at number three in the ICC Test rankings with a rating of 768. Steve Smith is at number four in the rankings with a rating of 757.
Ashwin tops bowling rankings In the new ICC bowling rankings, India’s Ravichandran Ashwin remains at number-1 with 870 rating. Josh Hazlewood and Jaspreet Bumrah are at the second position with 847 points. New Zealand’s Kyle Jamieson and Matt Henry have gained one position each. Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi has also gained one position. He has now moved from 11th position to 10th position.
