On the evening of August 17, outside the office of the education department, the vigilance caught former JD RP Sharma on the complaint of teacher Ajay Pal Singh alias Ajay Chaudhary accusing him of taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh. After this incident, the principal and teachers demonstrated in support of the JD. The UP Educational Officers Association also came out in support of the JD.

A two-member team was constituted by the government to investigate the matter. The team included Vigilance Secretary Rajesh Kumar and Special Secretary Home Department VK Singh, who reached Agra on Monday. They interrogated JD office’s clerk Devendra Verma, DIOS office’s clerk Krishna Mohan Tyagi, JD’s driver Vijay Pal Singh and attendant Sarwan Kumar. They collected information from them about the entire incident. It has been told that during the interrogation they also gathered information about the recruitment of 42 teachers.
