Continuous heavy rains are continuing in Aligarh. After which the district administration has become active and relief camps have been started in the city. In the areas affected by heavy rains, people are being shifted from dilapidated houses and taken to shelter homes and relief camps.

To keep the children safe, DM Visakh G. has declared holiday in schools and colleges on 13th September. All the government, non-government, UP Board, CBSE, ICSE, AMU and other recognized board run schools in the district will remain closed on Friday. After the DM’s order, BSA Dr. Rakesh Singh has issued orders for holiday from class 1 to 12th.
Relief camps started at three places in the city
After the continuous rain in the district, the administration has started relief camps in the city. The Municipal Corporation has started relief camps in Gandhi Park, Gular Road and Bhujpura. The Municipal Corporation has made arrangements for food and accommodation for the people here, so that people can be given relief.
ADM Finance and Officer-in-Charge Natural Disaster Meenu Rana said that in view of the weather department’s warning, a control room has been set up, where people can give information about any incident caused by rain. People can give information 24 hours a day on the disaster control room (0571-2700128) or on the officer-in-charge’s CUG number – 9454417748.
Many trees fell during rain in Aligarh on Thursday. In view of these incidents, the administration has extended the school holidays.
Municipal commissioner has been made the nodal officer
The officer in charge has instructed all the officers to keep a constant watch on their respective areas. If any incident occurs due to rain, immediately reach the spot and start relief work. Health officials have also been instructed to remain alert. In case of snake bite, injections will be given immediately.
The Municipal Commissioner and Apan Nagar Aayukt have been made the nodal officers for the arrangements of food and water in the relief camps. People can also give information on the Municipal Corporation’s control room number 0571-2750250 and toll free number-1533.
SDM will inspect the area
The ADM has ordered all SDMs to conduct regular inspections in their respective areas. Along with this, they should also prepare a record of incidents like crop damage, house collapse, etc. so that people can be given relief.
