Along with this, the police was informed about this and the family tried to find him everywhere. A missing person case was registered on the written complaint to the police. BHU outpost in-charge Shivankar Mishra started looking for him with his team. Apart from 50 cameras and questioning 20 people, nearby ashrams and dharamshalas were also checked.

When the police first checked the cameras of the BHU campus, he was found going from the campus to the highway and was seen in the camera installed at Mohansarai on the highway. He was seen walking till the highway but was not seen at many places later. However, after returning to the campus on Wednesday, the security personnel recognized him and then on Thursday the police called him to the police station and took full information.

I did not have money so I walked to Chitrakoot

PhD student Gurudayal Kumar said that he was living in deep depression for many days, after which he set out in search of peace. Due to lack of money, he walked a total of 65 kilometers from BHU IIT to Katka railway station. After that he went to Prayagraj by train and then from there to Chitrakoot.

He offered prayers at various temples and slept on the ghat. He returned to Prayagraj from Chitrakoot by train on Wednesday, 11 September, then stopped at the station there and caught the train at 11 am on Thursday and reached Sarnath. In the evening, the youth again reached the BHU campus.

I did my M.Tech from BHU in 2009.

The youth told that he did his M.Tech from BHU in 2009, after that he worked in many companies and also taught in a school in Noida. He lost his job during Corona, after which he went into depression.

The young man said that at that time he was married and had to bear the expenses of the people at home, so he was worried. Meanwhile, he passed the BPSC exam but he could not pass the interview, which shocked him for the second time.

Fear of not passing the PhD exam

According to PhD student Gurudayal Kumar, he passed GATE in 2024 and took admission in BHU in July 2024. His admission started from 8 September. Even before that, he got nervous that he would not be able to pass the exam. So he left the hostel and went out without taking his family members and any companions.

He said that he is fed up with his life and so he does not want to live anymore. Lanka police station in-charge Shivakant Mishra tried to convince him a lot and then called his family members to the police station and told them the whole story. After talking for 1 hour, he was sent home with his family members.
