On September 5, UP STF killed Mangesh, who was absconding after a robbery worth crores of rupees at Bharat Ji Soni Saraf’s house and had a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head, in an encounter in Mishrpur Puraina of Kotwali Dehat. STF recovered a bike, a bag, five kg silver, a pistol and a revolver from him. A few hours after the encounter, politics started on the caste angle.

Doubt on STF encounter

The house of the deceased criminal under the Baksha police station of Jaunpur had become a hub of politics. The deceased’s sister had accused him of taking him away from home and killing him. The action of the STF was also under suspicion because CO DK Shahi, who was leading the STF team, was seen wearing slippers in the photo that came out from the encounter site. Apart from this, he and his team were not even wearing bulletproof jackets. This raised a lot of questions on the encounter.

A complaint has been made at Baksha police station in Jaunpur

In this sequence, the government came on the back foot, so two days ago the DGP called a press conference in Lucknow to do damage control. He ran the statement of the family and took applause by talking of impartial action. Now 10 days have passed since the incident. But the family is not being given the postmortem report. The family had given an application to the SHO Baksha Jaunpur and SP to register an FIR. But the FIR was not registered. Advocate Dr. Gajendra Singh Yadav has complained about this to the DGP.
