Saharanpur is not an industrial district. But Yamunanagar of neighbouring state Haryana and Muzaffarnagar of Saharanpur division are industrial districts. In these two districts, AQI remains between 200 and 250 on normal days. But when work picks up pace, AQI reaches 300 to 400. But on Saturday, AQI of Yamunanagar was 48 and Muzaffarnagar was 43 and Saharanpur was 30. AQI of Shamli was also 30. The only reason for improvement in AQI is the continuous rain.
