Five people trapped in a hut due to the flood in Patwara village in Palia of Lakhimpur Kheri on Saturday night were rescued safely by the NDRF team in a daring rescue operation led by SDM Kartikeya Singh.

As soon as the administration got information that five people were trapped in flood water in a house in the village, SDM Kartikeya Singh immediately swung into action. Tehsildar Aarti Yadav and NDRF’s 11-D team were sent to the spot. On the instructions of SDM Kartikeya Singh, rescue work was started in the darkness of the night.

After a lot of hard work, the team rescued Balram (32), Shatrughna (65), Mansa Devi (60), Manju Devi (26) and a three-year-old girl named Nikki by motorboat. During the rescue operation, the flow of water was so fast that the NDRF team had to face many problems due to sugarcane crop and water hyacinth, but the team continued its work without stopping.

Naib Tehsildar Dilip Kumar and Harsh Nishant were also present in this operation. This rescue operation was successful due to the hard work of the NDRF team and the supervision of the SDM. The promptness of the administration and the rescue team in this flood crisis averted a major accident.
