Three doctors of PL Sharma District Hospital, Dr. Vinod, Dr. Jyoti and Dr. Amit together conducted the post-mortem of all the dead bodies. CMO Dr. Ashok Kataria remained at the mortuary with his team and policemen. The post-mortem began at around 10:30 am and continued till 1:30 pm. After postmortem, the bodies were sent to Zakir Colony in ambulances, two by two. First the bodies of Sajid, Saqib, then Sania and Riza were sent. After this, the bodies of Nafo, Farhana, then Alisha and Alia were sent from the mortuary to Zakir Colony after postmortem. The postmortem of four-year-old Samreen and six-month-old Rimsha alias Himsha was not conducted. 3 major causes of death The cause of death in the PM has been found to be bodily injuries, head injuries and blood clotting in the head. The head got pressed under heavy objects in the debris, due to which blood circulation in the head stopped and death occurred. Apart from clotting, humidity also caused death. Harmful gases are released very fast from the debris of building materials like brick, soil, cement. Here too CO2 was released from the debris. Due to continuous exposure to it, the veins of the body start swelling and blood circulation stops. This also causes humidity and the person dies due to suffocation.
