A huge fire broke out in a bicycle shop in Guru Teg Bahadur Market (Super Market) located in Kotwali area of the city on Monday night due to unknown reasons. As soon as the fire broke out, there was panic in the area and people living nearby came out in fear. As soon as the incident was reported, police and fire brigade reached the spot.

According to the incident, at around 9 pm, Shiv Kumar, the owner of a bicycle shop in the super market, closed his shop and returned home. Shortly after, he received information about a fire in the shop. When he reached the spot, the shop was engulfed in flames. People immediately informed the police, after which, on the information of city Kotwal Rajesh Singh, fire brigade personnel reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire.
After about an hour of hard work, the fire was brought under control, but by then all the goods kept in the shop had been burnt to ashes. According to the shop owner Shivkumar, his bicycles and bicycle making material were destroyed in the fire, due to which he has suffered a huge loss of Rs 20 to 25 lakh.
Thankfully, there was no loss of life in this accident, but the cause of the fire is still not clear. Police and fire brigade have started investigating the matter.
