Samajwadi Party leader of opposition Lal Bihari Verma, who reached Vishunpur Majhwara village of Sirkoni area of Jaunpur on Tuesday evening for a private function, fiercely attacked the central and state governments. He also accused the police of culpable homicide in the robbery of a jeweler in Sultanpur.

He further said, in the last 64 years, the country was in foreign debt of Rs 56 lakh crore, but during the tenure of the current government, this debt has increased to more than 205 lakh crore. The Prime Minister and the Chief Minister have pushed the country under the burden of debt. The BJP government has taken as much debt in 9 years as the country had not taken in 56 years. Today every Indian has a foreign debt of Rs 1.5 lakh.
Taking a direct dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Verma said, how much development has taken place in Varanasi, which is the Prime Minister’s parliamentary constituency? How many factories were set up? How many power plants were established and how many people got employment? Those who called it a golden bird are now patting their own backs.
Taking a jibe at Om Prakash Rajbhar, Verma said, Rajbhar’s words have no meaning. There is no assurance of when, where and how he will change his stance. He has been kept only to listen to abuses. Speaking on the law and order situation of the state, the SP leader said, there is no such thing as law and order left in the state. There is complete jungle rule here.
