Late Wednesday evening, the SOG team raided a house in Jalaun where gambling was being played under the patronage of the police in Rampura police station area and arrested 17 people. Lakhs of rupees in cash was recovered from them. The raid caused panic in the area.

For the last 4-5 months, gambling was being played at Devendra Singh Rathore’s residence by people coming from outside and this gambling was being played under the patronage of Rampura police. Where lakhs of rupees were being bet every day. But no action was being taken by Rampura police, as soon as Jalaun Superintendent of Police Dr. Durgesh Kumar came to know about this, he got the SOG team to raid Devendra Singh Rathore’s residence in Subhash Nagar locality without informing the Rampura police station.
SOG team arrested 17 people From here they arrested 17 people with playing cards while betting on win or loss. During this, lakhs of rupees were also recovered from the spot. Famous gamblers had come to play at the place where gambling was being played, some of whom had come from outside as well. As soon as Rampura police came to know about the raid of the SOG team, the police team reached the spot and took all 17 people into custody and reached the police station and started legal action.
The figure of money was not given The police did not officially say how many lakhs of rupees worth of gambling they caught, but they definitely said that 17 people were arrested while betting on winning and losing. Lakhs of rupees in cash was recovered from them. The cash is being counted. The police did do a photo session with the arrested people, but the exact amount of money seized has not been given yet.
