Due to heavy rains in Unnao and continuous release of water from western dams, the water level of Ganga is rising rapidly, due to which the flood situation in Shuklaganj and surrounding areas has become serious. According to the Central Water Commission, the water level of Ganga was 112.130 meters on Monday evening,

Due to rising water level, many localities of Shuklaganj including Ravidas Nagar, Indira Nagar, Shakti Nagar and Manohar Nagar have been flooded. Waterlogging has also persisted in coastal areas like Karbala, Hussain Nagar, Shahi Nagar, Syed Compound, Champa Purwa, Teji Purwa, and Mansukh Kheda. Due to which local residents are facing a lot of problems.

The administration has arranged boats in flood affected areas so that people can be taken to safe places. Considering the seriousness of the situation, the administration has decided to deploy Lekhpals at flood posts.

Lekhpal Ashok Saini said that the water level of Ganga is being continuously monitored. A plan has been made to deploy lekhpals at every flood post from Wednesday. The administration has issued an alert and appealed to the local people not to go to the flood affected areas and stay in safe places. Relief work is going on by the administration, and all possible help is being provided to the affected people.

The administration has appealed to the people to immediately contact the local authorities in case of any emergency.
