Flood havoc in Jalaun | Flood havoc in Jalaun: Municipality distributed food packets, electricity department cut off power supply to two localities – Jalaun News


After heavy rains on Tuesday night in Jalaun, the water of Karai dam overflowed and Malanga drain got flooded, due to which three mohallas of Konch Nagar got flooded. The Nagar Palika immediately started relief work and started providing food to the flood affected people through tractors.

The continuous torrential rain in Jalaun from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning created a flood-like situation in Gandhinagar, Gokhale Nagar and Malviya Nagar of Konch Nagar. The Malanga drain got flooded due to the overflowing of the water of the Karai dam, due to which these three localities were flooded with water up to 5 feet. People had to face a lot of trouble due to water entering hundreds of houses.

The municipality distributed food packets to the victims

Seeing the seriousness of the situation, SDM Konch Jyoti Singh, Madhogarh MLA Moolchand Niranjan, and Nagar Palika President Pradeep Kumar Gupta immediately visited the flood affected areas. They instructed the Nagar Palika to provide relief materials, after which the Nagar Palika prepared food packets for the flood victims through community kitchens.

Complete arrangement of food and other necessities in the camps

Nagar Palika President Pradeep Kumar Gupta and EO Pawan Kishore Maurya distributed food packets in the flood affected areas through tractors along with ward members and social workers. They ensured that no one sleeps hungry. Relief camps have also been set up in the affected areas, where people whose houses have been flooded with excessive water have been accommodated. Complete arrangements for food and other necessities have been made in the camps.

Municipal Chairman Pradeep Kumar Gupta said that all possible help will be provided to all the flood affected people so that they do not feel the lack of anything.
