The flood in Malanga drain in Jalaun has caused havoc in four localities of Konch city, affecting hundreds of people and completely disrupting life. Late Thursday night, District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Pandey and Superintendent of Police Dr. Durgesh Kumar visited the spot.

He inspected the relief camp set up at Kamla Nehru Balika Inter College and checked the quality of food and hygiene of the community kitchen running there. The District Magistrate instructed the officials to provide every possible facility to the people living in the relief camp and pay special attention to hygiene.

After visiting Gandhi Nagar area, which is the most affected by the flooding of Malanga drain, the District Magistrate took the problem of waterlogging in the flooded areas seriously. He met the affected families and assured them of all possible help and advised that the people living in the areas where waterlogging is more, should take shelter in relief camps so that they do not have to face any kind of health problem.

Today, on Friday, the State Minister for Sugarcane and the district in-charge Sanjay Singh Gangwar will also visit Konch town. He will inspect the flood-affected areas and distribute relief material. Apart from this, he will also hand over certificates of financial assistance to the victims of flood-damaged houses in Salaiya Buzurg village of Konch tehsil.
