Along with Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, the court has also rejected the bail applications of Ashish Kumar Shukla and Ashok Tiwari.
This order was passed by the division bench of Justice Vivek Chaudhary and Justice Md. Faiz Alam Khan on Friday after hearing the bail applications filed along with the appeals of Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, Ashish Kumar Shukla and Ashok Tiwari.
The counsel appearing for the accused told the court that during the testimony the victim in the case did not support the prosecution’s story and she has been falsely implicated in the case due to political rivalry.
On the other hand, the Additional Government Advocate on behalf of the state government told the court that Gayatri Prasad Prajapati was a cabinet minister at the time of the incident. Due to his pressure, even an FIR was not being registered regarding the incident.
Later, after the intervention of the Supreme Court, an FIR was registered in Gautampalli police station. The victim and her minor daughter confirmed the allegations in their statements before the police and magistrate, but later, using his influence, he succeeded in turning the witnesses hostile.
