A case of dowry harassment has come to light in the Krishnanagar police station area of Lucknow. It is alleged that the husband and her in-laws used to harass her for dowry. They threw her out of the house.

Sangeeta Rawat told that she got married on 31 May 2022. Since the marriage, the in-laws were demanding extra for a bullet bike, four-wheeler and gold chain.
On 4 May 2024, Sangeeta was beaten and locked in a room overnight. They also threatened to burn her. Somehow, she survived after informing the police. The next day, on 5 May 2024, Sangeeta was thrown out of the house along with her newborn baby.
The woman has filed a report by giving a complaint in Krishna Nagar police station. Krishna Nagar police station in-charge Pradyuman Singh says that on the basis of the complaint, a report has been filed. Investigation is being done and further legal action will be taken.
