New Zealand all out for 340 runs on the third day of Galle Test: Fifty by Williamson, Latham and Mitchell, lead of 35 runs in the first innings

Williamson, Latham and Mitchell scored half centuries for New Zealand.
The first match of the Test series is being played between New Zealand and Sri Lanka in Galle. On the third day of the match, New Zealand’s team was all out after scoring 340 runs. Kane Williamson scored 55 runs and Tom Latham scored 70 runs from the team. Prabhat Jayasuriya took the maximum 4 wickets and Ramesh Mendis took 3 wickets from Sri Lanka’s side.
Sri Lanka was all out for 305 runs in the first innings. Kamindu Mendis scored 114 runs from the team. Fast bowler William O’Rourke took 5 wickets for 55 runs from New Zealand in the first innings.
Sri Lanka lost 3 wickets in scoring 3 runs Sri Lanka started playing on the second day with a score of 302/7. Ramesh Mendis started playing with a score of 14 and Prabath Jayasuriya with a score of 0. O’Rourke took 2 wickets and Ejaz Patel took one wicket and Sri Lanka was all out. The team could add only 3 runs to its score.
In the first innings, apart from O’Rourke, Ajaz Patel and Glenn Phillips took 2 wickets each from New Zealand. While Tim Southee got one success. Mitchell Santner and Rachin Ravindra did not get any wicket.
Everyone scored runs from New Zealand New Zealand started their innings in the very first session. Devon Conway and Tom Latham made a fifty partnership from the team. Conway got out after scoring 17 runs. From here Latham made a fifty partnership with Kane Williamson and took the team past 100. Latham got out after scoring 70 runs. Rachin Ravindra again supported Williamson and made a fifty partnership, this time Williamson got out after scoring 55 runs. Rachin could also score only 39 runs again.
Glenn Phillips not out on 49 After losing 4 wickets at the score of 196 runs, Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell took charge of the team. Both of them made a fifty partnership and by the end of the day’s play, the team’s score reached 255 runs for 4 wickets. Mitchell scored 57 and Blundell scored 25 runs, while Glenn Phillips played fast and scored an unbeaten 49 runs. From Sri Lanka, Prabath Jayasuriya took 4 wickets, Ramesh Mendis took 3 and Dhananjay de Silva took 2 wickets.
Tom Blundell and Daryl Mitchell have made a fifty partnership.

The match will last for 6 days The Galle Test will last for 6 days (18 to 23 September), as there will be a rest day on 21 September due to the presidential election in Sri Lanka. The second match of the series will be played from 26 to 30 September. Both matches will start at 10 am Indian time.
