After the strictness of Allahabad High Court, the state government has started taking action against the companies making fake namkeen. On Friday, the government filed an affidavit and told the court that after the court’s order, raids were conducted on 93 companies making namkeen in the state.

,

Additional Advocate General Manish Goyal and Additional Government Advocate JK Upadhyay gave this information by filing an affidavit on behalf of the Principal Secretary Food Security before the bench of Justice VK Birla and Justice AK Singh Deswal, which is hearing the case.

The court had also sought information from the central government in this matter. But the advocate of the center demanded more time. The court accepted it and asked to present the case on November 8.

It is noteworthy that the High Court has taken up this matter as a suo motu PIL. Earlier, the court had considered auctioning of rejected Namkeen of branded companies in the name of animal feed and mixing new Namkeen and selling it in the open market as dangerous for health. It had also directed the Central and State Government to take action against those involved in making and supplying such Namkeen. After which action is being taken by the State Government.
