Local women protested against the liquor shop in Hisampur village of Chandwak area of Jaunpur. The women alleged that their lives have become difficult due to the abuse, beating and nonsense sitting in public places by the drunkards.

The liquor shop running in Hisampur village for the last fifteen years has become a cause of trouble for women. Due to the continuous nuisance caused by drunkards, the villagers have been demanding the removal of the shop from time to time. Under the leadership of Subhavati Devi, women gathered in front of the shop and protested. They said that the activities of drunkards are troubling them mentally and socially.
assurance of a solution As soon as the information about the protest was received, police force including station in-charge Dharmendra Dutt and SI Rameshwar Pandey reached the spot. The police talked to the protesting women and assured them that an attempt will be made to solve the problem by writing a letter to the Excise Commissioner in this matter.
