30-year-old Surendra, son of Bachhi Lal, a resident of Kabrai town, had a quarrel with his wife Mamta over a minor domestic dispute. After which Mamta went to her maternal home Bamhori Khurd. The victim says that he received a call from his wife asking him to take her away, so he went to his in-laws’ house in Bamhori Khurd village to bring his wife. There his wife mixed a poisonous substance in his food and fed him. Due to which his condition started deteriorating, then his wife along with her brother and other family members beat him brutally. They beat him with sticks and injured him and threw him on the road.

It was a good thing that Surendra’s son Shiva was with him who took him to the Community Health Center, Kulpahar for treatment. On receiving the information, the local police also reached the spot and after providing first aid, the injured was taken to the district hospital for treatment. Surendra, who is admitted in the emergency ward, is being treated there. Surendra told that he had gone to his in-laws’ house to bring his wife where he was given poisonous substance in his food and was beaten up. In this matter, a written complaint has been given by him at the police station. He has given a written complaint for action against his wife and other in-laws.

Kulpahar police station in-charge Arjun Singh said that the matter is under cognizance. It seems suspicious, yet investigation is being done on the basis of the complaint. Further action will be taken on the basis of whatever facts come to light.
