The Varanasi division team won the senior state level Kabaddi competition at Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Stadium Devipatan (Gonda). In this victory, the players gave a tough fight to the players of Saharanpur and finally won the match by a margin of 1 point.

Excellent performance in the competition Divisional Deputy Sports Officer Dr Manzoor Alam Ansari said- Under the aegis of Sports Directorate Uttar Pradesh, under the birth centenary year of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, the state level senior men’s Kabaddi league was played on knock-out basis at Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Stadium Devipatan (Gonda) from 18 to 20 September. The Varanasi division team that participated in it performed brilliantly and reached the finals.
Defeated Saharanpur in a tough match He told- Varanasi division’s team won this match by a margin of 37-36 in a tough contest against Saharanpur division in the final match. All the players of Varanasi division Ankit, Saurav, Sudhir, Karan, Krishna Kumar, Chandan, Vishal, Aqib Hashmi, Akash, Prahlad, Udit, Vishal performed well. During this, Kabaddi coach Shikha Singh encouraged the players.
