The Lakshmi temple located near Laxmital was built in the 17th century during the Maratha rule. The marriage rituals of Jhansi’s King Gangadhar Rao and Rani Laxmibai were also performed in this temple. The queen used to visit this temple regularly to worship.

Recently, the tourism department has renovated this temple at a cost of Rs 2.79 crore. Facade lights have been installed here, due to which this temple looks bright in the evening. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the new look of the temple on September 27.
