The police has solved the theft that took place in Girish Chandra Mishra’s house in Birauri village in Jalalpur, Jaunpur within four days. The shocking thing is that the theft was not committed by any outsider, but by a woman who was his daughter-in-law and her minor son.

Police arrested the mother and son on Sunday and recovered cash worth Rs 4.07 lakh and goods worth more than Rs 2 lakh. SHO Manoj Kumar Singh said Girish Chandra Mishra had gone to Lucknow with his family and the theft was discovered when they returned on September 19. The locks of the rooms in his house were broken and cash worth more than Rs 4 lakh, silver items, household appliances and utensils were missing.

On getting clues, SI Mohan Prasad and SI Vijay Kumar Singh arrested Girish’s nephew Shailendra Kumar Mishra’s wife Preeti Mishra and her minor son. On the basis of their information, the police recovered the stolen cash of Rs 4 lakh 7 thousand, silver plate, coconut, fish, betel leaf and other electronic devices.
