The situation came under control due to the promptness of the police on the issue of religious conversion in a private marriage hall in Nayak Tola locality on BMCT road of Mehdawal police station area in Sant Kabir Nagar. As soon as the information of a marriage ceremony related to religious conversion was received, the police immediately reached the spot.

The incident took place on Saturday in Nayak Tola locality of Menhdawal police station area. Where a wedding ceremony was going on in PS Marriage Hall. On the information of local intelligence, Menhdawal police immediately took action and station head Ramkripal Singh reached the spot with his team. During this, some women tried to stop the team from entering. After which women police personnel were called and the situation was assessed.
The police thoroughly examined all the documents related to the bride and groom and their family for about an hour. After the investigation, the police informed the higher authorities and granted permission for the marriage. According to the information, the bride had converted to Islam in Telangana on 12 December 2023. After this she came here to marry Mohammad Zaid, a resident of Kushinagar. Zaid is the son of Mirza Agish Ahmed, who is 30 years old. After this incident, workers of Hindu organizations also reached the spot. Due to which a huge crowd gathered outside the marriage hall. The police worked hard to disperse the crowd and calmed the situation.
Police station in-charge Ramkripal Singh informed that both the parties are adults and belong to the same religion, so after checking all the documents, the marriage has been allowed with the permission of higher officials. Apart from this, details of all the relatives have also been collected.
