In Salempur village of Nawabganj police station area of Farrukhabad, women protested vigorously demanding the removal of the liquor shop. A large number of women gathered outside the shop and raised slogans and protested for about 4 hours. The women said that the shop was in village Ummarp.

The protesting women alleged that the contract remains open all the time. Due to which anti-social activities are being encouraged in the village. Due to which the villagers are upset. The women demanded the administration to remove the contract as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kaimganj, Naib Tehsildar and Excise Inspector along with local police station reached the spot. The officials tried to convince the women. They assured to remove the contract within ten days. After this the women calmed down and returned to their homes. This protest of women has highlighted the public’s resentment towards liquor shops in the area. Due to which a new challenge has arisen in front of the local administration.
