The central and state governments are constantly making efforts to provide housing to all. While the central government is running the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Haryana government is implementing the Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme. Under this scheme, the Haryana government is providing free plots of 50 square yards and 100 square yards to marginalised groups.
The last date to register for this scheme is September 30, 2024. Applicants can register online by visiting the official website. Beneficiaries will also be able to secure a loan of up to Rs 6 lakh from banks to construct their houses.
Eligibility & Mandatory Requirements
Only residents of Haryana who fall under the economically weaker section, live in kutcha houses, and belong to the socially backward class are entitled to benefit from this scheme. Additionally, applicants must not have received a plot under any government scheme previously. The annual income of the applicants should not exceed Rs 1.80 lakh. Below Poverty Line (BPL) families from both rural and urban areas are eligible under this scheme.
To avail the benefits of this scheme, families must possess a Parivar Pehchan Patra and their mobile numbers must also be linked with this family identity card.
Expanded Scheme
The Haryana government has expanded the Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme and is now accepting registrations to provide plots to eligible BPL families of the state. The estimated project cost for the Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme Extension for the period 2024-2027 is Rs 2,950.86 crore.
Plot Size
Under this scheme, the state government will provide plots of 50 and 100 square yards to eligible applicants. BPL families in rural areas will receive residential plots of 50 square yards in Maha Gram Panchayats and 100 square yards in general panchayats.
How to register
One can apply online for the Mukhyamantri Gramin Vikas Yojana eighter independently or by visiting a common service center.
The process for applying online is as follows:
- Visit the official portal for Housing for All – https://hfa.haryana.gov.in/mmgaye.
- Click on ‘New registration’.
- Enter the required details, such as mobile number, family identity card ID and Aadhaar card number.
- Click on ‘Generate OTP’ and enter the OTP in the designated box.
- Click on ‘Complete Verification’.
- Click on ‘Register’ to complete the process.
