Indian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt has asked Vinesh Phogat to apologize to the whole country for being disqualified from the Paris Olympics. Vinesh was disqualified in the final of the 50kg weight category due to being overweight.

Wrong image of India has been created: Yogeshwar Vinesh Phogat is contesting the Haryana elections on a Congress ticket. On this, Yogeshwar said in a show on Aaj Tak, joining politics is a personal decision, but the country should know the truth. I would say that the incidents that happened in the last one year, whether it is disqualification from the Olympics or the wrestlers’ protest at Jantar Mantar, created a wrong image of India and it was promoted wrongly all over the world.

‘Was welcomed even after losing the medal’ Yogeshwar further said, people were called to Jantar Mantar by giving them wrong information about the protest. This was completely wrong. Even after the country lost a medal, the perception was created that something wrong happened to Vinesh. If I were in Vinesh’s place, I would have apologized to the whole country that I could not reduce my weight, but here I am being welcomed.

‘Wrestling is easier than politics’ When Yogeshwar was asked about politics and wrestling, he said, wrestling is easy because your life will be spent in the game of politics, but you cannot learn politics. I believe the biggest mistake in politics is to lie to people and cheat them.

Yogeshwar Dutt said, in politics heads are counted, but in wrestling your strength works. By coming into politics you get to know who is with you and who is not. Even those people move ahead who have no existence.

First Indian female wrestler to reach the Olympic finals Vinesh became the first Indian woman wrestler to reach the final of 50 kg wrestling Olympics by winning 3 matches. She defeated Cuban wrestler Guzman Lopez in the semi-finals, Oksana Livach of Ukraine in the quarter-finals and world champion Yui Susaki of Japan 3-2 in the pre-quarterfinals.

However, America’s Sarah won this fight.
