Fraud complaint filed against Netflix: Vasu Bhagnani alleges – 47 crores of OTT rights withheld, Netflix retorts – on the contrary, our money is owed

For a long time, producer Vasu Bhagnani has been surrounded by controversies due to the issue of stopping payment. Meanwhile, Vasu Bhagnani’s production house Pooja Entertainment has filed a complaint against the OTT platform Netflix, accusing it of fraud of Rs 47 crore. Netflix has retorted to Vasu’s allegations and said that on the contrary, they have to take money from Vasu Bhagnani.
In the complaint, Pooja Entertainment has accused Netflix that their three films Coolie No. 1, Mission Raniganj and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan were streamed on the OTT platform, however Netflix has not yet paid Rs 47.37 crore for streaming rights. Vasu Bhagnani’s complaint also includes the name of Los Gatos Production Service India, which manages Netflix’s Indian content. Apart from this, the names of 10 executives including Zoo Digital are also included in the complaint.
An official statement from Netflix has come out on the allegations made by Vasu Bhagnani. In which it is said, these allegations are completely baseless. Actually, Pooja Entertainment owes money to Netflix. We have a complete track record of partnerships with the Indian creative community. We are working with the authorities to resolve this matter.
Director Ali Abbas Zafar had accused him of stopping the payment
Producer Vasu Bhagnani has been in controversies for a long time. Director Ali Abbas Zafar of his production house’s film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has recently accused him of not paying him Rs 7.3 crore for directing the film. He has also filed a complaint in the Directors Association in this matter. After the controversy escalated, Vasu Bhagnani also accused director Ali of misusing the subsidy funds received from Abu Dhabi authorities during the shooting of the film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’. Vasu also went to the police to lodge a complaint against Ali in this matter, but his FIR was not registered.
