Recently, the play ‘Baap Re Baap’ was organized at the Sangeet Natak Academy in Lucknow. This play has been written by the famous writer Padmashree K.P. Saxena, in which the complexities of family relationships have been shown through humor.

The drama begins with the disappearance of Babu Badrinath. Babuji lives with his son Vikas, daughter-in-law Meenu and Noorbaksh. When Babuji goes to Kanpur to meet his friend, Vikas is in the office. Meenu, who forgets about his departure, later becomes worried when Babuji does not return. Vikas informs the police and announces a reward of Rs 5 lakh.
In greed for the reward, Pandit Anokha Lal Tiwari brings a fake father, while Badrinath’s friend Fazal Chacha also brings a mute man who resembles Badrinath. Humor arises when the two fake fathers start arguing with each other. Eventually Badrinath himself returns and it is revealed that Meenu had forgotten about him.
Associated with theatre for 20 years The director of the play said that he has been associated with theatre for the last 20 years. After the establishment of ‘Kriti’ theatre organization, he started his journey of writing and directing. His aim was to present the play ‘Baap Re Baap’ with humour and satire. He said that elders are often ignored by children, and this is the message depicted through the play.
