Fans in a theatre in India once celebrated the entry of Thor in Avengers: Infinity War by throwing popcorn in the air.

When it comes to Marvel, the craze of the Indian audience is completely unmatched. Not only do the fans never miss a movie, but fondly remember every character and every scene. Chris Hemsworth, known for his portrayal of Thor, the God of Thunder, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reminisced about the love of Marvel among Indian fans. He shared his memory of a viral video where the audience threw popcorn in the air during his dramatic entrance at the climax of the 2018 Avengers film Infinity War. A video of this incident went viral, and even the film’s directors, the Russo Brothers, shared it.

Even after six years since the movie’s release, Chris still remembers the moment. During his recent interview with PTI, the Australian actor reminisced about it and said, “I love India. I love Indian fans.” Further recalling that exact moment from his film, he added, “I remember the ‘Bring me Thanos’ moment during Infinity War. There was footage of a cinema hall in India where that happened and people (were) throwing popcorn and cheering, I’d never seen anything like it. Every time I go to India, I think of that moment.”

The 41-year-old actor was talking about the particular scene in the 2018 MCU movie when the Avengers and Thanos lock horns to stop the latter from wielding the power of the infinity stones. As Thanos’ army outnumbers the Avengers and their group of superheroes, Thor makes his way to the battleground, killing dozens before saying, “Bring me Thanos.” This particular scene from the film is still considered one of the most iconic scenes in the MCU’s film series. Chris portrayed Thor in four stand-alone films based on the superhero character and four Avenger movies.

The Hollywood star has now collaborated with another fan-favourite film franchise, Transformers. The 41-year-old appears as a voice actor in Transformer One, and he hopes that his latest film resonates with his Indian audience, giving it the same love they did for his role in the MCU. Transformer One, an animated film that was released in theatres last week serves as a prequel to the previous live-action movies.

In the same interview, Chris said, “The themes in there are relatable to audiences across the globe. And it has a great sense of humour and a huge amount of heart, visually stunning. This film really is epic, and we’re all incredibly proud of it.” Apart from him, the Josh Cooley-directed film also features the voices of Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne and Jon Hamm.
