In Mirzapur, a consumer has submitted a complaint letter to the DM today on the vigilance team of the electricity department issuing a notice despite taking a bribe of 40 thousand rupees. In which a demand has been made to register a case against the entire team including the JE and SI of the enforcement team. Lalganj Police Station Area

Firoz alleges that on 4th September, the enforcement team came to the village and checked the electricity connection. He was out of the house. At my home, my father was abused and beaten up. While the electricity connection and bill receipt were shown to the opposition. Seeing the increasing crowd, the team members ran away from there. While leaving, they said that you should come and meet them in the office in the evening. Otherwise, we will impose such a huge penalty that you will have to pay it your whole life.

All the information was given to me by my father. I met the people from the department at the given address at around 11 pm. They threatened me and said that I should pay Rs. 2 lakhs immediately or else they would take action against me and show overloading and impose a penalty of around Rs. 10 lakhs. The applicant said that I have a connection then why should I give bribe. On this the opposition got furious and started threatening us and said that if you don’t give the money then be ready to pay the fine. We will file an FIR against you and your father right now.

The team of the electricity department forcibly took 40 thousand rupees from the applicant. The next day on 5th September, a notice was issued against the applicant’s father on 7th September by showing wrongful overloading. A reply has been sought on 27th September. The entire village is upset due to the act of the electricity department. Huge amounts of money are being collected by showing wrongful overloading. The opposition calls the connection holders to the enforcement team office around 6 to 12 in the evening and collects the money by blackmailing them. A demand has been made to register a case against the enforcement team of the electricity department. It has been said that justice should be done by eliminating wrongful overloading.
