A special program “Colors of Folk Dance” was organized by Rangsangam Sanstha in collaboration with Directorate of Culture, New Delhi, at Sangeet Natak Academy, Vipin Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.

The objective of this programme was to keep the vanishing folk dances of Uttar Pradesh alive and present them to the new generation.

Learn about choreography Swati Srivastava learned Kathak dance from Bhatkhande Music College and continued her dance journey under the guidance of her mother. Along with dance, Swati also stepped into acting and displayed her talent in various plays. Now she is trying to promote folk dance.
These dance variations were performed In the presentation “Colors of Folk Dance”, Swati Srivastava gave a special performance of Dedhia, Kajri and Kaharwa dance.

Women described the beauty of the village and nature through Kajri dance on the stage.
Cultural significance This performance not only provides entertainment to the audience, but also keeps the cultural heritage of folk dance alive. Swati Srivastava said that the audience will like this performance and their interest in folk dance will also increase.
