Crops of hundreds of farmers on the verge of destruction
Hundreds of farmers from Babrauti, Naseerpur and Kudanpur villages reached Etah Collectorate to get relief from their problems. There he submitted a memorandum to Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Satyaprakash and requested for help. Farmers said that thousands of bighas of crop have been destroyed and if drainage arrangements are not made soon, the upcoming wheat crop may also be affected.
Support of District Panchayat member
Seeing the problems of the farmers, District Panchayat member Yashpal Shakya along with dozens of farmers met the ADM in the Collectorate. He said that due to blockage of the drain passing through the Jawaharpur Thermal Project, water is not being drained, due to which a situation of waterlogging has arisen in the villages.
Administration gave assurance of solving the problem
Villagers who reached the collectorate said that there is waterlogging situation in Kudanpur, Babrauti, Nasirpur, Nigoh, Hasanpur, Ayar, Malavan and Dolpura villages. ADM SP Singh assured that the closed drain inside the Jawaharpur Thermal Project will be opened and the rain water will be drained soon, so that the problems of the villagers can be solved.
Heavy rains and waterlogging have made the situation of farmers serious, if it is not resolved soon, their hard work may go waste.
