BJP workers and officials surrounded the Electricity Department office located in Bhelupur police station area of Varanasi and demanded action against JE. It is being told that Bijl was at the Lane No. 1 residence of BJP member Dilip Kumar Mishra in Gangapuri Colony located in Phulwaria area.

Allegations of demanding Rs 30 thousand
It is alleged that the raid was conducted without informing the Regional Executive Engineer. The BJP members who arrived with Dilip Mishra sat on a dharna in the office of the Inspector in Charge against the raid. In protest, they are accusing JE Vikas Dubey and Vigilance Inspector Santosh Singh of demanding Rs 30,000 and demanding a case to be registered against both of them. In view of the protest, CO Vigilance Saroj Pandey and SHO Vijay Shukla are busy in convincing people.
There is ongoing conversation between the police and BJP leaders in the inspector in-charge, electricity department office.
There has been talk of burning the meter wire since last 10 days.
Dilip Mishra told that his meter wire got burnt 10 days ago. On complaining, local JE Vimal Maurya asked the employee to get the wire connected. Whereas his electricity bill is also not outstanding. On receiving information about the commotion, CO Vigilance Saroj Pandey reached. She picked up BJP leader Dilip Mishra and about 35 to 40 of his colleagues sitting on the dharna and tried to convince them by talking to them.

BJP leaders alleged that people were being harassed by Vigilance to continuously extort money. Complaint about which has also been made to the higher officials of Vigilance. After a lot of uproar with CO Vigilance, Phulwariya is demanding to register a case against Junior Engineer Vikas Dubey and Inspector Santosh Singh of Vimal Maurya Vigilance Team. BJP workers said that they had given information about meter burning to the junior engineer of Phulwaria. Junior engineer Vimal Maurya had sent the lineman and got the electricity connected. During this time, his house was raided on Thursday afternoon and a meter was also installed on Friday morning. His bill is not due.
