Due to continuous torrential rains in neighboring country Nepal and lakhs of cusecs of water being released from barrages, the water level of Ghaghra river is rising rapidly once again. 18 thousand population of 15 villages affected by flood

Recently, due to the rising water level of Ghaghra river, 40 villages of Colonelganj and Tarabganj tehsil areas were affected by floods. But now due to the decreasing water level of the river, approximately 18000 population of only 15 villages is affected by floods. Gonda district administration is also providing lunch packets along with relief material to all the flood victims. Besides, more than 150 boats have also been deployed for the transportation of flood victims.

Water is slowly coming out of people’s houses

Due to the continuously decreasing water level of Ghaghra River, now two to three feet of flood water filled in people’s houses is slowly coming out. Due to which the problems faced by the people are reducing. After the river water completely runs out from the houses, people are coming from higher places and living in their houses. Due to houses being filled with water, people left their homes and went to safe places. On one hand, people were facing a lot of problems due to severe floods. Now on the other hand the problems are reducing.
