The water level of river Ganga had recently crossed the danger mark. As a result of which flood situation had arisen in many areas of the city and rural areas. However, on Friday the water level reached 111.870 metres, below the warning point of 112 metres.

According to the Central Water Commission, the water level of Ganga was measured at 112.120 meters at 5 pm on Thursday. After this, the water level dropped further on Friday, reaching 111.870 meters at 5 pm. A decline was also recorded on Saturday. This water level is 13 centimeters below the warning point, and a fall of 25 centimeters has been recorded in 24 hours.
However, despite the decline in the water level, Champapurwa, Gotakhor, Hussain Nagar, Karbala, Shahi Nagar, Sayyid Compound and many other areas are still filled with flood water. Local residents said that due to flood water they are facing a lot of trouble in their day-to-day activities.


Saddam, a resident of Champapurwa, said, “The water level has declined, but our area is still filled with water. This is causing many problems in our homes.” At the same time, residents of the diving area also complained that proper water drainage measures have not been taken, due to which the flood water is flowing out slowly and increasing the problems.
The local administration has given information about the flood situation several times and advised people to stay safe. But local people say that no concrete steps have been taken for drainage in their areas. A resident of Hussain Nagar said, “We have appealed to the administration for help several times, but no special measures have been taken so far.”
Many families still in relief camps Many families are still living in relief camps in the flood affected areas. The administration has provided some relief material, but local residents say it is not enough. Sumitra, a resident of Karbala area, said, “We need more help to prevent floods.
Some plans were made for drainage Our situation would have been better if relief material had been received sooner. Meanwhile, the administration has made some plans for drainage, but it is taking time to implement them. People have appealed to the local authorities to take immediate steps for drainage. Lift so that flood water can be removed as soon as possible.
