The mega auction may take place in November this year, the dates of which are yet to be decided.
The annual meeting of the IPL Governing Council was held today in Bengaluru, in which a major decision regarding IPL was taken. Board Secretary Jai Shah had also announced today that match fees will be paid to all the players in the tournament. Also, the impact player rule will also remain in the league.

Only ₹45 crore will be saved after retaining 5 international players According to the report of Cricbuzz, if IPL teams retain 5 international players before the mega auction, then only Rs 45 crore will be left in their purse. Due to which they will have to buy the remaining 20 players. Among the retained players, 2 players will be part of the team for Rs 18-18 crore, 2 players for Rs 14-14 crore and 1 player for Rs 11 crore. That means Rs 75 crore will have to be spent on retaining 5 players. The amount for which an uncapped player can be retained was not disclosed.
In the 2022 mega auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore retained Virat Kohli for the highest amount of Rs 17 crore.
How many foreigners will we be able to retain? Every time in the IPL mega auction, the limit for retaining foreign and Indian players was fixed. However, this time there is no limit on retaining foreign and Indian players. If the franchise wants, it can retain all five Indian or five foreign players. An uncapped player can also be from any country.
