In fact, after the order of the High Court two years ago, about 117 parking lots in the city had to be closed. Then this order came that parking would be done at the same place where along with shelter, all the facilities including drinking water were available.
Due to this, many such parking lots including Saharaganj and Fun Mall had to be cancelled, due to which the Municipal Corporation was earning a profit of lakhs of rupees. But now its survey has been conducted once again on the instructions of the government. Its complete report has been given to Commissioner Roshan Jacob.
Vending zone will also be built
It is being told that during this period, vending zones will also be built at these places. Where street vendors will be given space. Due to this, there will be no encroachment on the road after noon. Parking will be created there by removing encroachment under the bridge near Husadiya intersection. Some part will be for vending zone. Apart from this, the areas of Munshipulia, Khurram Nagar, Tedhi Pulia will also be included in it. It is being told that more than 3 thousand vehicles which are parked on the roadside will be able to get the right space. Municipal Corporation’s profit will also increase.
