By giving wide publicity to the scheme among the general public, instructions are being given to the concerned officers to apply as much as possible.

PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme Under this scheme, poor families are being provided subsidy for solar panels. However, it cannot be called a completely free scheme as the beneficiaries will have to contribute some of their share.

Beneficiary households get financial assistance in installing solar panels under the subsidy provided by the central and state government, while bank loan facility is also available so that their share can be easily paid. The government is giving 40 percent subsidy in this scheme. Beneficiaries get assistance in paying the remaining amount through bank loan.

The aim of this scheme is to provide electricity to the electricity deprived houses through solar energy. This scheme will not only reduce the electricity bill but will also spread renewable energy.

Installation of on-grid rooftop solar power plant Under this scheme, solar panels are installed on the roofs of houses, thereby meeting the electricity requirements of the house and also providing the option of selling the excess electricity into the grid. Under the scheme, bank loan facility is also being provided to the beneficiaries along with subsidy.

In this, up to 40% subsidy is being provided by the government, while there is a provision of bank loan for the remaining amount, so that common people can avail the benefits of this scheme.
