The Swachhta Pakhwada campaign being run to make people aware and sensitive towards cleanliness in Muzaffarnagar was concluded by the Municipal Council on Wednesday. During this, Chairperson Meenakshi Swaroop and Minister Kapil Dev Aggarwal posted in the urban area.

Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti were celebrated in the Town Hall by the Municipal Council. In the morning, Chairperson Meenakshi Swaroop hoisted the flag at the Townhall building, garlanded the statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and administered an oath to everyone to work by being sensitive towards cleanliness. After this, the closing ceremony of the Swachhta Hi Seva Abhiyan 2024, which will run from 17 September to 2 October 2024, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was organized.

Chairperson Meenakshi Swaroop and EO Dr. Pragya Singh, keeping cleanliness in mind, honored the ward councilors and cleanliness heroes who made their significant contribution in completely eliminating and beautifying the garbage dumping sites located in the ward by giving them the Swachh Ward Award. After this, a cleanliness rally was taken out from the Municipality premises.

It was jointly flagged off by Chief Guest Minister Kapildev Aggarwal, Chairperson Meenakshi Swaroop, City Magistrate Vikas Kashyap and EO Dr. Pragya Singh. In the rally, the general public was made aware of cleanliness by spraying drains with anti-larva machines, depicting cleanliness messages.

EO Dr. Pragya Singh told that along with seven councilors Anita Haseeb Rana, Mahila Shobhit Gupta, Mithlesh Devi, Vijay Kumar Chintu, Manoj Verma, Satish Kumar Kukreja and Ritu Tyagi, who provided cooperation in eliminating garbage dumps in their wards, Safai Naik Ravi Tijori, Vishal Kumar, Shiv Kumar, Jeevan Kumar and Devi Prasad were honoured. Told that the municipal team along with Safai Nayaks will work in the wards for anti-larva spraying. The program was conducted by clerk Tanveer Alam and SBM clerk Akashdeep.
