The cases of diphtheria are not showing any sign of stopping. This disease is being confirmed in some children every day. Recently, symptoms of diphtheria were seen in Vishal, 15 year old son of Santosh of Kakarora village of Safipur block.

The family took Vishal, who was suffering from fever and throat pain for several days, to the CHC, where the doctor referred him to the district hospital. At present, Vishal has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. According to the data of the Health Department, till now diphtheria has been confirmed in 187 children, out of which 17 children have died untimely in serious cases.
CMO Dr. Satyaprakash said that the work of vaccination and testing by health teams is going on in the affected areas. The team has been instructed not to be careless in this matter and strict action will be taken against the careless.

Crowd of patients in emergency ward The outbreak of infectious diseases is increasing rapidly during the monsoon season, due to which the number of patients coming to the district hospital has increased. Due to the OPD of the district hospital being closed during holidays, patients were forced to go to private hospitals. During this period, 16 new patients were admitted, out of which five had prolonged fever and their samples were sent for testing for dengue and malaria.
