Self. The 67th district level secondary school athlete competition started with much fanfare at Brahmadutt Dwivedi Stadium, Fatehgarh. The program was inaugurated by chief guest DM Dr. VK Singh and special guest District School Inspector Narendra Pal Singh by lighting the lamp.

On the first day of the competition, the school girls presented a welcome song and dance, while NCC cadets and various school students paraded and saluted the DM. Patriotic songs were also presented in cultural programs. 800 meter race was organized in the competition, in which Sushil of RP Inter College Kamalganj got first position, Rahul of Brahmadutt Dafedar College got second position and Shyam Rajput of GIC Inter College Fatehgarh got third position.

The DM encouraged all the participants and said, “Such programs will bring glory to the district at the national level. Sports are an important part of life and education develops the mind, while sports develops the body.”

Disorders were seen on the very first day However, on the very first day of the competition, irregularities marred the grandeur of the event. The channel of the ground was not opened on time by the District Sports Officer and the grass on the track was uprooted. Pits and large branches of trees were found lying at many places, which caused resentment among the teachers. On this, the DM took cognizance of the matter and reprimanded District Sports Officer Karmaveer.
