A woman resident of RC Mission area of ​​Shahjahanpur police station has lodged an FIR with the police against her husband and her in-laws, accusing them of dowry harassment and obscene acts. The victim alleges that from the very next day of the marriage, her in-laws started taunting her for bringing less dowry.

The victim said in her complaint that she was married eight months ago to a young man living in a village in the Khutar police station area. During the marriage, her father had given more dowry than his means, which included Rs 10 lakh. But the in-laws found this dowry low and from the second day of the marriage, the husband, father-in-law, and other in-laws started demanding a Scorpio car.

In-laws asked for Scorpio

The victim made serious allegations saying that on April 17, her in-laws, while demanding Scorpio, beat her up and made her unconscious by feeding her intoxicants. Later, the accused left her in an unconscious state and threatened to kill her if she returned to her in-laws house without Scorpio. During this, the victim also alleged that her father-in-law did obscene acts with her several times.

Panchayat was held several times between the two families

The victim told that several Panchayats were held between the two families, but there was no impact on the in-laws and they remained adamant on their demands. Finally, the woman was forced to lodge a complaint with the police. Police station RC Mission in-charge said that based on the woman’s complaint, an FIR has been registered and the matter is being investigated. The police will soon interrogate the accused and necessary legal action will be taken.
