Donald Glover Cancels Remainder of Childish Gambino Tour Dates.

Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, cancels his tour after being hospitalised and requires surgery. He thanks fans for their love and support during recovery.

Donald Glover, known for his music persona Childish Gambino, has announced the cancellation of his remaining North American and European tour dates due to a health issue requiring surgery. Glover, who has been battling an undisclosed ailment, revealed on Friday via X that his condition worsened after a show in New Orleans, leading him to seek medical attention in Houston.

Following the hospital visit, doctors advised Glover to cancel his upcoming performances and undergo surgery. “After more tests, it became clear I could not perform the rest of the U.S. tour in the time asked,” Glover explained in his statement. He did not share further details about the illness or the nature of his surgery, but emphasised that his recovery is a priority.

The tour, titled New World, was a significant project for Glover, as he had previously hinted it would be his final tour under the Childish Gambino moniker. Alongside the tour, Glover had also planned to release an album and film titled Bando Stone and the New World. The tour was expected to run through early October in the U.S., with European dates scheduled for November.

Glover also acknowledged the disappointment his fans may feel, expressing gratitude for their understanding and support during this difficult time. “I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform. Until then, thanks for love, privacy, and support,” he wrote.

The artist had already postponed 15 North American dates earlier in September to focus on his health, but it now seems the issue requires more immediate attention. Fans with tickets to the canceled shows will receive refunds at the point of purchase.

As of now, Glover has not confirmed whether the shows in New Zealand and Australia, scheduled for early 2025, will also be affected. His focus remains on his health and recovery, with hopes to eventually return to performing once he has fully healed.
