The prices of fruits have increased rapidly during Navratri in Hapur. Due to which people’s pockets are having a huge impact. Banana, which used to be sold for Rs 50 a dozen on normal days, is now available for Rs 80-90 a dozen. The prices of other fruits have also increased significantly.

People fasting during Navratri consume more fruits. Due to which the demand for fruits suddenly increases during this period. Taking advantage of this, fruit sellers increase the prices. The administration does not monitor this situation, due to which black marketing increases further.

Fruit seller Yad Ilahi said that there has been a difference of about Rs 20 in the prices of most fruits. Due to this increase in the prices of fruits, people fasting during Navratri are facing difficulties.

Fruit prices:

  • Apple: Earlier Rs 50, now Rs 100
  • Banana: Earlier Rs 50, now Rs 100
  • Papaya: Earlier Rs 50, now Rs 60
  • Pomegranate: Earlier Rs 100, now Rs 160
  • Coconut: Earlier Rs 50, now Rs 70
  • Orange: Earlier Rs 80, now Rs 100
  • Sapota: Earlier Rs 80, now Rs 100
