Kali Bari Temple was established 162 years ago by the famous Tantrik Madhusudan Mukherjee, who got the idea of the idol of Maa Kali through a divine dream. In this idol, Goddess Kali is seated on the seat of Panchamund, and Lord Shiva is situated at her feet in a passive form, supporting Mahakaal. The unique architecture and divine atmosphere of this temple especially attracts the devotees.

Navratri festival celebration
With the beginning of Navratri, Kalash was established in the temple, which marked the beginning of Shardiya Navratri. The priest of the temple told that special worship is being done during Navratri. There will be Shashthi prescribed puja on 9th October and Saptami prescribed puja on 10th October. Ashtami Puja will start on October 11 at 5:25 am. During this time, Sandhi Puja will also be performed, which will continue from 6:24 to 7:12 pm. After this, Navami Puja and Mahapuja will be organized on 12th October. Navratri festival will conclude with Gori Lakshmi Puja on 16th October.

On the occasion of Navratri, the temple is decorated with colorful lights. Colorful lights are scattered throughout the temple premises and outer areas. Devotees are coming to the temple in large numbers to have darshan of Mata Rani and express their wishes in the court of Maa Kali. The lavish decorations inside and outside the temple have attracted devotees, and the temple complex is echoing with the chants of Mahamai.
