Now SIT has started investigation in the case of murder of a youth after kidnapping from Pikaura Datturai of the city in Basti. SIT has started collecting evidence for this. A three-member team is included in the SIT. It was being alleged that the investigators had arrested the absconding accused.

The team will be led by Crime Branch Inspector Sanjay Kumar. Sanjay told that the SIT has taken possession of all the documents related to the case from the police station’s investigator. Evidence collection has been started. So far 16 accused have been arrested in the case. The teams already deployed will continue to make efforts to arrest the absconding accused. The new team will bring forward the events of the case from the beginning till now.

This is the whole matter

On May 12, Mohit Yadav, who lived on rent in Avinash Singh’s house in Pikaura Datturai of Kotwali police station area, was kidnapped and murdered. Mohit’s landlord had filed an FIR against five named and others in this case of murder after kidnapping in broad daylight. On the basis of CCTV footage and statements of the arrested accused, the names have increased to 20.

These include Satyam Gupta, Pulkit Jain, Ashif Idrishi, Amit Singh, Vipin Gupta, student leader Aditya Vikram Singh, Apostle Pal alias Gorakh, Anudraksh Pandey, Monu Jaiswal, Aman Gupta, Karan Jaiswal, Sadiq alias Suddu, besides Prateek Mishra, Vivek Pal and Ashutosh Pathak etc. have been arrested.

The arrested accused had confessed to the crime

The accused arrested in the Mohit murder case, while confessing their crime, had said that Mohit Yadav had died during the beating. After which his body was thrown into the river. But the police could not recover his body yet.
