Police on Saturday arrested an accused in the case of placing rebar on the railway track between Jakhaura-Dailwara railway station in Lalitpur. Stolen railway bars and other items have been recovered from the arrested accused.

The accused told that he was going to steal the rebar, but when he saw the train coming, he got scared and ran away leaving the rebar on the track. After this the bar got stuck in the engine of the train. Due to which sparks started coming out. The police and railway administration have heaved a sigh of relief after the matter came to light.

On the night of 3 October, Patalkot Express was going from Jhansi towards Lalitpur. Then the rebar got stuck on the railway track between Jakhaura-Dailwara station. Gate man Bharat Rajput informed the station superintendent, after which the train was stopped by applying emergency brakes and the driver removed the bar stuck in the engine.

Stolen goods recovered Superintendent of Police Mohd. Mustaq said that Satendra Yadav, resident of village Bakhtar, has been arrested. The accused told that he was stealing the bars kept for underpass construction work. Police have recovered stolen bars and other railway items from his house.
